‘Reaching for Plums’ was one of the first of the Late Love Poems to be completed. The poem takes place in a heavy summer shower, underneath a plum tree in a garden in All Stretton, Shropshire. In this case however the film is of a reading of the poem at the Green Room, Porthcawl. Sometimes we go for simplicity in these films. But I still can’t get the taste of those plums out of my mind.
